Aussie Curves: Texture

This week is texture week. And in my corner of the world, that means sequins - not original but I love them. And this week - whether it was due to the weather (hot and humid) or lack of occasion (work, work, work), I had limited opportunity to rock out my many sequinned items. So instead I give you my favourite sequin number - a dress I wore to my cousin's wedding in 2011. It is also one of my favourite online buys - you know, the one that looks better IRL than it does onscreen. The one that fits perfectly. The one that you love.

So, travelling back to 2011, my cousin was getting married in November . My cousin and cousin-in-law asked me to do the prayers of the faithful (Catholics will get what I am talking about), so I figured I needed a nice dress. I did purchase a dress from ASOS and it was one of those online buys - looks better on screen than IRL. Doesn't fit (as ASOS fittings can be all over the place). Makes you feel like crap.

So, it was back to the drawing board. It was about this time I started looking at plus sized fashion online blogs, like Gabifresh and Jay Miranda and started to see fashion in a different light. So I started looking around at what they were buying (within my budget) and stumbled across the plus sized section of Nordstroms. My love of sequins was already in place when I stumbled across this grey/silver sequinned number. And I knew. This was the one.

I matched the dress with some low heeled red pumps and borrowed a red Oroton clutch from one of my workmates - which went with my red lip stick, and headed on out to St Peter Chanel Regents Park. The wedding was beautiful. The bride was beautiful. My Gran was beautiful.

My cousin and New Cousin.
So, I know that my texture wasn't very original, but check out the other ladies and how they have interpreted texture.
