Rain, rain. Go away. Come again another day.
Actually, I don't mind the rain - as long as it's not torrential or causing flooding. But this rain has meant that any plans I had for starting the backyard and gardening have gone out the window.......washed away with the rain.
So instead of gardening, I went shopping. Op shopping. There are a few decent op shops in and around the Parramatta area. I tend to opshop about once a month, on average. I never generally go with an idea in mind, other than what I like. But I am on the look out at the moment for an entertainment unit, console table and a bar.
First stop was Salvos North Parramatta. This is a fairly large Salvos store that is a hit more often than it is a miss. Whilst I only walked away with one item today:
I have my eye on a sideboard for potential use as a entertainment unit. Still deciding on that one.
Next stop was the new Vinnes on Church Street North Parramatta.
Great english stoneware platter
small wooden bowl - perfect for a salad (or snack) for one
perfect addition to my retro dining table
And finally, at Merrylands Vinnies, I hit the jackpot. I have been after something to use as a bar, for my glasses (also purchased at op shops) and liquor, and there it was. $12 for a "in great condition" console table.
I am a sucker for a "recipe" plate or dish - and as I recently made some pavlovas without having a plate large enough to "plate up" on. Problem solved.

What great finds! I love your "bar". I'm sad that we're pretty much out of room in our flat - no room to add new furniture that's for sure, but I do love finding plates that I can hang on the wall...as well as as clothes & jewellery. Is the Merrylands Vinnies "big" like North Parramatta?
ReplyDeleteMerrylands Vinnies is a pretty decent size. It isn't as pretty as North Parramatta as it is older but there is always a great bargain there. And I remember my unit days - you do run out of room pretty quick.
